Our Bee Garden

Follow us as we create a garden for the bees!

Room 15 has been learning all about the importance of bees in our environment.
Not only do they make us yummy honey to eat but without bees we wouldn't have many other fruits, vegetables and grains to eat too.

Bees are dying around the world because people spray plants
with insecticides which also kill bees.
The varroa bee mite is also responsible for killing whole hives of bees.
Honey is big business in New Zealand. People all over the world love our honey.

The children in Room 15 have carefully chosen plants that bees love and we've started a garden outside our classroom.
Come and check it out! We'll even give you a guided tour with one of our bee garden experts!

Well done, Room 15 - the bees (and butterflies, too) will be very grateful!
